fear factory

when I was a child I felt compelled to watch these frightening movies
other boys and I discussed at length which ones were worst to try and school me
for any Freddie flick or creature feature we would scan the rental store
and I'll confide that I was truly terrified, but I can tell you:
movies do not scare me anymore!
(because I don't get scared anymore)

when I lay in darkness down, visions were compelling me to fear
red and white and ands and armies, near and far and near
hiding blades for later days, whatever purpose works to set the score
but ok, alright, I'll admit that tourniquet won't fit me, because:
dreams just do not scare me anymore
(I don't get scared anymore!)

when I first got here I felt compelled to keep my distance, sulk and brood
judging people by what I could glean about their motives or their mood
others surely see me as irrelevant, annoying or a bore
but I have thought it through, decided everyone's confused, and therefore:
people do not scare me anymore

I don't get scared anymore.

notes:

mostly - I mean, far and above, the main one - the note F. then also the note B, used to contrast for a sort of harsh, spooky effect. also, during the beginning, the notes E and G are used a good bit, and at the end, also A, and eventually D. during the middle, the notes are intended to be made up on the spot.

I vote exclusively based on my fears.
